The Finance & Accounting Intern will have the unique experience of becoming a key member of the Internal Audit team and immediately begin participating in audits. The intern will learn about the effectiveness of controls and their associated risks to the firm. They will also help in risk-based decisions and work with various business owners, managers and key executives to expand their knowledge and network. Upon successful completion of the internship, there will be an assessment process to possibly convert the internship into a full-time engagement. This is a hybrid role, 4 days a week in office. 

What you will do:

• Support Internal Audit team 
• Perform audit testing as assigned
• Frequently communicate with business owners and key executives
• Aptitude to amerce within brokerage operations (FINRA)
• Perform analysis on large data sets as assigned
• Problem-solve and identify gaps or deficiencies in areas of business

What you need to have:

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in a relevant academic area or equivalent relevant work experience in financial sector
  • Preference towards finance and accounting majors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Tableau, preferred. 
• Superb written and oral communication
• Critical thinking and ability to work independently towards audit examinations
• Aptitude to learn business operations, finance, accounting, IT, and Brokerage Operations
• Willingness to pursue certifications including the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and the Series 7 certification

Compensation: 

The salary range for this role is $20-$25 per hour. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations.
