Canby Grove Camp & Conference Center is Hiring a Lifeguard Near Canby, OR

Canby Grove Christian Center is seeking full and part-time lifeguards for its 2024 season beginning in May.

Typical shifts are from 11:00pm-5:30pm and are available 7 days per week.

Requirements:

Current Lifeguard certification is required including First Aid, CPR and AED certification from an approved course.

At least one year experience is preferred.

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform swimmers and poolside guests of pool safety requirements prior to opening pool.
  • Assure a safe swimming and pool area environment by monitoring and supervising swimmers and poolside guests to adhere to pool safety requirements.
  • Assure swimmers requiring lifejackets are being worn and correctly applied.
  • Monitor for swimmers in possible distress while in pool and assist to safety.
  • Perform rescue and administer first aid care as trained when necessary.
  • Perform safety and custodial duties as assigned when closing pool.
  • Complete required reports as assigned.
  • Interact professionally with guests and staff at all times.

Physical Requirements and Other Requirements:

  • Experience supervising youth in recreation or aquatics setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
  • Must wear required uniform when on shift.
  • Ability to work outdoors exposed to direct sunlight with hot or cool temperatures.

Physical exertion required, including, but not limited to: lifting, climbing, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, reaching and safely walking on wet deck surfaces. Requires standing and/or sitting for extended length of time. Requires repetitive foot, arm, shoulder, hand movement, hearing and seeing.
