Leadership Management Trainee - Operations
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Leadership Management Trainee Operations (LMT-O) Program is a six-month, paid intensive training designed to equip participants with essential leadership and industry knowledge for the role of Assistant Trainmaster (ATM). Successful completion of the program necessitates relocation to a terminal within the CPKC network and commitment to future relocations. The training includes classroom instruction, online training, workshops, projects and on-the-job training. Participants will undergo an 11-week manager conductor training course followed by 12 weeks of infield training where you'll learn the competencies required to safely lead the operations and supervision of yard/ train movement.

WORKING AS AN ASSISTANT TRAINMASTER
As an Assistant Trainmaster you will be responsible for coordinating processes related to arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching of trains. You will support the Trainmaster in the efficient movement of traffic within the road territory and yard-terminal. You will be accountable for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics. Most importantly you will provide leadership to build a strong safety culture along with providing coaching on operational standards. As a qualified Conductor or Locomotive engineer working as an ATM you will be required to maintain your qualifications and may be called upon at any time to run trains.
