Responsibilities

The Job At-A-Glance:

This position will help create a new auxiliary business line that provides a credit reporting service to our residents. They will be responsible for making sure positive payments are reported in a timely manner and that residents who opt out of the reporting are not charged. This position will also help with a new guarantor waiver program as well as our insurance and in house captive programs.

  • Data Analysis: Review and analyze credit data, including credit reports, loan information, and payment histories, to identify inaccuracies and discrepancies.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in credit reports by collaborating with data providers, credit bureaus, and credit reporting agencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other relevant credit reporting laws.
  • Data Quality Improvement: Develop and implement processes to enhance the quality and accuracy of credit reporting data.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of credit report-related activities, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Communication: Collaborate with lenders, financial institutions, and credit reporting agencies to exchange information and address credit report-related issues.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to internal staff on credit reporting compliance and best practices.
  • Report Generation: Generate reports and summaries of credit data analysis, trends, and discrepancies for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Automation: Identify opportunities to automate data collection and reporting processes for increased efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, changes in regulations, and emerging trends in credit reporting to continually improve the process.

Qualifications

Relevant Systems, Platforms and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, data analysis, or a related field.; or 2-5 years’ experience in the student/multi-family housing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and Property Management software
  • Proven experience in credit reporting, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit reporting laws and regulations, including the FCRA.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel, or data visualization software.
  • Diligence and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of credit scoring models and credit bureau operations is a plus.
