Job Description: Mobile Service Truck Technician

Position Summary:

As a Mobile Service Truck Mechanic at Campbell Supply, you will be a crucial member of our service team, responsible for providing on-site maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics for commercial and emergency vehicles. Operating from a fully equipped mobile service truck, you will travel to various customer locations to ensure their vehicles are kept in optimal working condition. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, customer service, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Mobile Service: Operate the fully-equipped mobile service truck and travel to customer locations to perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on commercial and emergency vehicles.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and provide accurate assessments of necessary repairs.
  • Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose complex vehicle problems efficiently.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to engine repairs, brake adjustments, electrical system repairs, and hydraulic system maintenance.
  • Parts Management: Manage inventory on the mobile service truck, ensuring availability of necessary parts and components for efficient on-site repairs.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers, addressing their concerns, explaining repair needs, and providing recommendations for vehicle maintenance and safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of performed repairs, parts used, and services provided. Complete work orders and reports in a timely manner.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations while working on customer sites. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards.
  • Technical Training: Stay updated with industry trends, new vehicle technologies, and advancements in repair techniques through ongoing training.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, with a focus on commercial vehicles, trucks, or similar equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while on-site.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to maintain professionalism and provide excellent service.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
