POSITION OVERVIEW
This position would be a Key Member of the Retail Team working closely with the EVP of Retail Operations and VP of Retail Operations to drive the future success of our Retail Food Service business. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the company’s leadership team. For this reason it will need to be an individual that is “Self-Motivated” and a “Strategic Thinker.” The successful candidate will be one who is capable of helping shape and develop our restaurant operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • While the Company believes it is important for this position to live close by our Corporate Office we are flexible and willing to accommodate a reasonable commute. 
  • We would view this person being in our Corporate Office at least 1 day per week and then being out in the field the remaining part of the week
  • Working with the RETAIL – Executive Vice President to help develop Strategic Vision and Strategy for our Restaurants that helps us drive Top line sales and profitability into the future.
  • This position will own all aspects of the Food Service Operations inside our Restaurants.
  • This position will have the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, developing and controlling all operational activities for our Food Service locations.
  • This position will ensure that we are Always in compliance with the local and state health department standards at every location and will strive for Best in Class Health scores at these locations.
  • This position will be required to create Operational guidelines and expectations for this division and to ensure all Team members are effectively trained to be able to execute our operational plan.
  • This position will work with our DL of Arby’s to ensure our Arby’s locations are operating within the Arby’s brand standards at all times.
  • Develops and seeks additional revenue opportunities with the Food Service category, other branded opportunities and potential expansion prospects.
  • Seeks and Identifies opportunities for improvement, cost reductions, and systems/technology enhancements that would make us efficient and profitable.
  • Will be responsible for helping create an Annual Budget for each Food Service location.
  • Works with the RETAIL EVP on Annual Cap Ex Forecasting for annual budgets.
  • Put in place KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for division to measure performance at each site. We can work together to determine these.
  • Stay on top of industry trends/info by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional study groups and other organizations.
  • Owns every facet of the Food Service Division.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops Team Members at each location to achieve maximum potential on a daily basis.
  • Sets clear expectations with Team members to ensure Team understand all objectives within the Division.
  • Oversees the Division to maximum profitability through the proper use of both the Labor & Food Cost controls, as well as in the weekly development of accurate sales and labor estimates.
  • Works with Director of Marketing and Director of Operations in all new Food Service product rollouts, new restaurant openings, customer service events and Grand Openings.
  • Leads the Division in multi-level succession planning, talent acquisition, talent development, and retention in conjunction with Ops team
  • Inspires and motivates team through solid communication and provides feedback against results (i.e. Food cost, labor management, guest complaints, service metrics, inventory, audits, product quality)
  • This position must be an Expert in all facets of their Division!
  • Must be able to Lead meetings within this Division.
  • Provide oversight and manage all areas of restaurant and be able to make decisions on matters of importance in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor and review month-to-month and year-to-year financial information on each store to make sure each site is hitting its financial targets set by EVP.
  • Always look for ways to increase Gross Profit and minimize waste!
  • Will be responsible for maintaining operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality and guest service standards as well as determining and implementing system improvements.
  • Develop labor budgets to ensure the restaurants are properly and efficiently staffed for all day parts and sales volumes.
  • Work with HR to develop a training program that will help our employees meet or exceed all corporate goals.
  • You will be required to work with HR to do annual employee reviews on all Team members to use this as a process to help them develop and grow as an employee and person.
  • Work with Director of Marketing to help develop and implement marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands all of which should help top line sales growth at each location.
  • Maintains guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage and service offerings; initiating improvements while building relationships with all customers.
  • Always respond to customer complaints, taking prompt and appropriate action to resolve any problems ensuring the customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Team, as well as, encourage and develop programs to provide learning and training opportunities for them to ensure they are executing our plan as expected and continuing to develop their skills and knowledge on the job.
  • This position will be responsible for developing and implementing an Inventory management process and procedure that will help our Restaurant Leaders efficiently manage and control all aspects of the Inventory on hand at each particular store. This position will also be expected to control all purchases, review and evaluate all usage reports, analyze variances and develop a plan of action in place when corrective action is needed.
  • Provide oversight in making sure all employees are following all company policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities: 
  • Provide and Participate in Strategic Planning, Oversight and Goal Setting for the Division.
  • Adherence to Corporate Standards and Operating Procedures.
  • Meeting Deadlines for Preparation and Management of Operating and Capital Budgets for the Division.
  • Assist and Lead the Division in determining the following Long- and Short-Term needs: Human Capital, Equipment and other Long Term needs for operations.
  • Seek and Participate in Continuous Improvement Schools, Study Groups or other Information Sharing meetings, conferences, etc.….
  • Maintain effective relationships with all Vendors and Brands represented or dealing with the Division.
  • Coaching and Mentoring Team members on effective performance management.
Cost Management:
  • Continually strive to effectively manage costs, develop projects, and action plans to achieve cost savings targets
  • Develop Operating Budget for Division annually for approval by Management
  • Variance reporting – monitor cost expenditures and seek solutions and controls for reduction of variance items
Safety, Health, Environment:
  • Promote and Support Safety throughout the FOOD SERVICE Division.
  • Work with HR and Safety Director on loss prevention analysis and process safety management
  • Work with HR and Safety Director on programs and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in accordance to local regulations and corporate standards
  • Promote and Support a culture where safety, health and the environment are values to the organization
  • Environment – maintain environmental compliance while continually pursuing waste reduction

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5-Years experience in the FOOD SERVICE Industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 Years in a Leadership role
  • Ability, Desire, and Passion for both FOOD SERVICE Industry
  • A track record of delivering measurable results.
  • Strong communicator with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works well within a collaborative environment where Teamwork is valued.
