JOB SUMMARY

The Student Intern works in the Professional Development and Emergency Preparedness department and assists with job-related projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists with projects in Emergency Preparedness and, if time permits, Professional Development.
• Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
• Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma is required; majoring in emergency preparedness, public health, or similar field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to interact with the public, staff, medical staff, hospital staff, and board.
• Ability to develop positive interaction with physicians and staff in order to care for the patient’s educational needs effectively. Able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to compose written reports and correspondence. Ability to initiate projects and follow through independently. Organizes and prioritizes workload with minimal supervision.
• Requires both the coordination and completion of tasks under deadlines and exposure to stressful situations.
• Computer Knowledge, including the ability to enter material into electronic records. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position.
