Camp Laurel South is Hiring a Summer Swim Instructor and Lifeguard Near Casco, ME

Camp Laurel South, renowned as one of the top-tier camps nationwide, is currently in search of a skilled Swim Instructor for the summer of 2024. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional instruction, enabling children to indulge in their passion for swimming while also encouraging exploration of new aquatic adventures. Your main objective will be to cultivate a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere conducive to skill enhancement, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the art of swimming.
Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning and Instruction:

Develop and implement engaging swimming lesson plans and activities for students.
Provide hands-on instruction to improve fundamental swimming skills such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Skill Development:

Assess students' swimming abilities and customize instruction to suit their skill levels.
Focus on both individual and group skill development, emphasizing proper stroke techniques and water safety.

Safety and Equipment Management:

Ensure a safe and organized swimming environment, adhering to water safety protocols.
Monitor the condition and usage of swimming equipment, promptly addressing any concerns and ensuring proper storage.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in swimming instruction or competitive swimming is preferred.
- Lifeguard Certification Required
Proficiency in swimming strokes, water safety principles, and teaching methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students of different ages and skill levels.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

Duration: We are looking for a two-month commitment June 9th - August 12th. We offer room and board for the time you are working at camp. Interested applicants, please send a cover letter detailing your interest in working with children and resume. We look forward to hearing from you!
