Position: Camp Fire Sandusky County/ Camp Glen Maintenance Supervisor Classification: Full-Time Salary Exempt Summer April-Oct, Part-Time Exempt Nov-March

Job Location- This position will focus primarily on Camp Glen with the Maintenance Supervisor occupying a living quarters on the Camp Glen Grounds. Travel between Camp Glen, Camp Fire Sandusky County & Camp Fire Findlay Office and as needed to acquire supplies and equipment will be necessary.


Supervisor:
Operations Director

Supervisory Role- The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of Camp Fire buildings, facilities, and grounds. Oversight will be required over seasonal staff and vendors/contracted employees

Work Hours- This is a contract position- hours will vary based on seasonal needs. 37.5 hours per week in the summer April-Oct, 20 hours a week in the winter months Nove-March.

Equipment Usage- Equipment usage will vary with tasks. Some examples of equipment are listed as follows but not inclusive to this list

  • Tractor, Gator, Power Tools, Mower, Weed Whip etc


Job Description-
The Maintenance Supervisor will be a member of the leadership team. The primary function of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee the maintenance of Camp Fire buildings and grounds.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Conducts continuous routine and preventative maintenance as assigned by the Operations Director and Executive Director in a timely fashion. This will include tasks such as but not limited to basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC and kitchen maintenance.
  • Completion of documentation of completed tasks with notation to cost and possible further work required.
  • Maintains an inventory of needed maintenance supplies and notifies Operation Director of needed supplies and inventory in a timely manner
  • Conducts monthly inspections of all facility equipment, operating systems and preventive equipment
  • Maintains and understands conditions as related to compliance with local and state regulatory codes.
  • Compliance with all inspection codes including but not limited to water checks and fire system needs.
  • Ensures living quarters are kept clean and presentable at all times

Minimum Qualifications

The below mentioned requirements are representative of the minimal requirements to ensure satisfactory performance is achieved in the position

Education- Associates or Technical degree in a field such as Operation Management, Facilities or equivalent.

Or

Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the needed skill set, knowledge and abilities to complete assigned tasks as required.

  • Strong computer skills - Google Suite o
  • Excellent people skills.

Ability to travel to attend job related training, courses, and to other offices/program locations. Must have own transportation available, current Ohio driver’s license, and current insurance. Ability to travel between locations: Misty Meadows, Camp Glen, and Findlay Office Individual must successfully pass Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), FBI background checks, and pass ODJFS child care/OCCRRA background screening. Must be punctual and dependable; well groomed; courteous; confidential and demonstrate efficient work habits.

Attention to detail is a must. The person must be able to follow and provide verbal and written directions; relate well to children and adults; and demonstrate a positive attitude toward work. Individual must adhere to the Camp Fire Sandusky County Standards of Conduct, as outlined in the Human Resource Policy Handbook.

  • Current certification in CPR and/or First Aid or the ability to obtain this within 90 days and maintain certification every two years.
  • Current Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Prevention Training or ability to obtain and maintain within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Must be self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Must be able to clean facilities to include: disinfectant, mop, broom, dust bucket, sweeper and cleaning supplies as specified by each site as needed.

Must be able to use technology to include computers, scanner, printer/copier Must demonstrate knowledge in routine maintenance needs

  • Must have an understanding of public health codes as related to food service and campgrounds or be willing to learn within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have an understanding of EPA drinking and wastewater systems and regulations or be willing to learn within 30 days of hire.
  • Be able to work with wood and power tools to fix and maintain stairs, boardwalks, and handrails throughout camp.

  • Ability to understand basic mathematica as it relates to the position

  • Ability to understand product safety information
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and address issues before utilizing outside sources (ie vendors, contractors etc.)
  • Fundamental knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ground maintenance and facilities upkeep and ability to repair these needs.


Physical Requirements

Employee must have the ability to sustain physical activity in changing conditions both inside and outside. Variations in noise level, climate and other factors will play into the working conditions. Employee will be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical currents and other conditions as related to the needs of the position. Must be able to lift 50lbs plus over your head as needed. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day as needed. Employee must be able to move about camp using stairs, paths, and uneven terrain as necessary. Employee must be able and willing to use a ladder to fix/repair facilities on camp.

Pay is commensurate to experience, education and skill set.
