· Experience is preferred, but NOT required. We provide all training.

· All our client’s dogs are interviewed for temperament, so you will not be working with dogs that do not like other dogs or humans.

Job description

Camp Bow Wow Memphis Balmoral is hiring dog lovers! We are hiring Camp Counselors to supervise our canine campers & facilitate a happy, healthy & safe play environment for all.

Counselors work closely with the dogs in our play yards, interacting with them through play, direction and stimulation. Counselors are also responsible for maintaining a safe environment by working with the other counselors to stay ahead of the various cleaning needs of camp, including basic grooming needs for the pups!

An ideal counselor is somebody who not only loves dogs but is ready to take on the responsibility of caring for them each day. Counselors must be reliable, patient, responsible and calm. They need to have a willingness to learn, grow, communicate, and be a part of a committed and thriving team.

What does a Camp Counselor do?

· Ensures the safety of all dogs and people all the time!

· Monitoring dogs in an open play yard environment.

· Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning!

· Has a fun time working with a team!

· Gets lots of slobbery pup kisses!

· Gives lots of pup pets!

· Keeps dogs healthy and happy by feeding, watering and giving attention!

· Training provided includes dog behavior, body language, how to give a bath, and much more!

Job Qualifications:

  • Passion for caring for dogs
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Dependable transportation
  • Punctual and Dependable
  • Able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, team environment
  • MUST LOVE DOGS - the noise, the hair, the messes, the love, and the kisses!

Requirements:

  • Be able to lift 40 pounds (dog food and supplies)
  • Constantly walk and/or stand entire shift
  • No allergies to dogs
  • Education: High school (Preferred)
  • Location: Memphis, TN
  • Work authorization: United States (Required)
  • Able to pass a background/criminal check

Schedule / Availability:

· Camp is open 7 days/week. Camp is staffed from 6:10 am to 7:30 pm 7 days a week.

· Opening Shifts are as follows: 6:10am to 12 noon or 6:10am to 2:00pm

· Closing Shifts are as follows: 11:00am to 7:30pm or 2:00pm to 7:30pm

· Weekends required

· Holidays required

Starting Wage:

  • $10.00 per hour TIPS (averaged together around approximately $13 /hour). Tip Pooling Program available for team which averages an additional $2.50-$4.00 per hour extra added to the hourly pay. Initial training/onboarding pay is $9.00/hour with no tips.
