DEPARTMENT: Urgent Care

JOB TITLE: Staff Physician

SHIFT: .6 FTE - Total hours 33. Two (2) twelve-hour shifts, Days.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.

2. Board certified or eligible in relevant medical specialty consistent with Cameron Medical Staff rules, regulations and bylaws.

3. Current medical license to practice in the State of Indiana.

4. Additional certification as needed including but not limited to Department of Transportation.

5. Current DEA certificate without restrictions.

6. Must successfully complete Cameron Hospital’s credentialing process.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides quality comprehensive out-patient health care services to Occupational Health patients. Reports clinical issues related to the delivery of medical care to the Medical Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Proficient in email and obtaining other resources i.e. inspect and electronic health record applications as implemented by Cameron Hospital.

2. Displays excellent customer service via fact-to-face contact or telephone. Advises nursing staff of appropriate response to patient phone calls.

3. Regular reliable attendance.

4. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor toward Cameron Occupational Health staff.

5. Renders professional, competent medical care, performs an examination, determines a diagnosis, orders prescriptive medication (as indicated) and treats patient’s medical concerns appropriately.

6. Completes patient medical record documentation efficiently and accurately in EPIC.

7. Maintains efficient productivity standards and patient flow.

8. Consults with patient’s family physician as necessary. Refers patients for specialty care services, lab and x-ray that are pertinent for the patient’s management and care.

9. Reviews lab and x-ray reports on a timely basis and makes appropriate medical management decisions.

10. Follows Cameron Hospital/ Occupational Health established policies and procedures for clinical practices, including Quality, Safety, Environmental and Infection Prevention standards.

11. Mentors clinical staff and offer feedback on any concerns regarding their performance to the Medial Director.

12. Audits the Physician’s Assistant charts including 100% of all Medicaid and private pay patients within the 3-day time frame in the Medical Director’s absence or at their request.

13. Assist the Director to assure adequate physician coverage during all hours of operation.
