    The Superintendent invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Principal.

    ROLE OVERVIEW


    The Principal will work closely with the Assistant Superintendent and other senior district officials to ensure that students receive outstanding academic and non-instructional support and services in their schools. The Principal holds a critical position as the instructional, organizational and culture leader of their school and will work closely with various departments at the central office to ensure all school-based staff and students are set up for success. The Principal will also work closely with parents and the community to build healthy, beneficial and respectful relationships in order to positively impact school goals. The Principal will serve as a key district leader and will be responsible for making the Superintendent’s vision for change a reality at the school level in alignment with the district’s strategic plan.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • Master’s degree or higher
    • Valid Principal Certificate of Eligibility or Standard Certificate in the state of New Jersey (or the equivalent license from another state)
    • At least 3 years of school-based leadership experience as a Principal, Vice Principal, or equivalent role in an urban turnaround school setting
    • Demonstrated success dramatically improving student achievement in low-performing schools, and a track record of making data-driven decision grounded in the use of staff performance and student achievement data
    • At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in a PreK-12 setting with demonstrated student achievement gains
    • History of effectively coaching both new and experienced teachers towards improving their ability to deliver outstanding instruction
    • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
    • A valid driver’s license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
    • Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Certification in Administration and Supervision or Educational Leadership (with Master’s Degree)
