    Behavior Specialist
    The Superintendent invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Behavior Specialist.

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Preferred: licensed as a Board Certified assistant Behavioral Analyst (BCaBA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
    • At least two years’ training and experience in applied behavioral analysis and experience providing training to staff and parents preferred
    • Commitment to remain current in field knowledge, evaluation and counseling strategies
    • A valid driver’s license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
    • Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Major roles and responsibilities include:
    • Teach and lead the use of positive reinforcement, to increase desirable behaviors and improve behavioral and social skills of identified students, in one on one, small group, or large group settings
    • Create behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations and social skills lessons for identified students
    • Provide school staff with resources, tools, in-class modeling, and training on techniques to promote positive student behaviors, tailored to identified needs
    • Oversee and provide consultation to school staff regarding programming and IEP implementation, and attend IEP meetings as determined by the Special Services team
    • Assist in the development of and oversee behavior plans for in-classroom implementation and assess progress of effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications for students with and without IEPs
    • Conduct behavior assessments and devise appropriate behavior plans to meet students’ needs
    • Coordinate communications between home and school with regard to home-based goals and provide consultation and recommendations to parents regarding behavior
    • Supervise, develop, and monitor home-based goals and objectives with staff and parents
    • Ensure timely completion of home-based plans and progress reports
    • Collaborate with school leadership teams, teachers, staff, students, parents, and community partners to devise appropriate, student friendly support plans for identified students
    • Support projects and initiatives in other divisions and departments throughout CCSD on an as-needed basis
    • Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor’s designee
