• The Principal Application/Integration Architect leads the design and analysis of software projects. They create or define configuration of new applications or improve existing applications, run software tests, may develop product prototypes, create technical documents, evaluate application technologies and make recommendations for best uses for the service lines or large scale segments of work streams supported. In-depth knowledge of the business line supported as well as a deep understanding of the technologies used to support workflows and how the technologies interact, interface or integrate with each other. The application/integration architect also serves as both a mentor and a trainer for other IT staff in areas of configuration or development of software as well as the expert in how multiple systems and platforms work or may work together and understanding where there may be project integration risks. • Change control champion ensuring processes are followed. • Maintain a level of cybersecurity knowledge sufficient to securely accomplish job duties

Responsibilities

1. Provides technical leadership and advice on designs for application solutions including design reviews, planning development and resolving technical issues 2. Leads, develops and articulates initial solution concepts to the customer and translates concepts into a solidified system solution for implementation and operations. 3. Conducts and gives guidance with design architect reviews, gap analysis, and assessment. 4. Responsible for the overall core architecture of Cerner Solutions and its integration points. 5. Thorough and extensive understanding of the customer’s integrated business needs, system functionality across the entire product suite and business processes to architect the design to achieve business objectives. Includes leading teams of all levels of the organization. 6. Leads/Performs all phases of the System Design Life Cycle including implementation, integration and regression testing, user acceptance, deployment, maintenance, and support of Cerner Millennium. 7. Select system and capabilities to meet business data requirements, evaluate new techniques for improved functionality. 8. Collaborates within I/S Department (and other relevant departments) to ensure successful maintenance & implementation. 9. Expert knowledge and can articulate the tradeoffs, benefits and risks of all architecture and design solutions 10. Oversees the implementation of changes in the EHR, including upgrades and customization as well as designs, implements and manages the change management process 11. Direct budgetary analysis and cost estimations associated with CAMC roadmap assumptions 12. Review business requirements and create technical requirements documentation as well as translate and articulate the complex information into easily understood terms. 13. Troubleshoot highly complex issues related to databases, job failures, software bugs and performance bottlenecks to all incidents working with multiple cross functional teams. Work on problems and drive them to resolutions. 14. Works with team to proactively identify and address gaps in infrastructure such as storage needs, processing needs, computing needs and work with Infrastructure team and provider to bridge those gaps identified. 15. Coordinate and supervise patches/upgrades/hotfixes Millennium and associated product suites. 16. Monitor performance, deployments in production and proactively perform activities to support SLAs 17. Implement version control / source code management tools 18. Provide 24 x 7 support of all Millennium environments and Implement Monitoring as required. 19. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Education: Master’s degree, advanced certifications or equivalent experience. Master’s and advanced certifications preferred. Experience: 10 years as an integration architect or experience directly related to the job responsibilities. Extensive and broad understanding of multiple technology solutions in healthcare delivery settings to include complex processes, analysis, design and solution integration. Cerner experience required.
