Responsible for the accurate and timely performance of complex stain and slide preparations that contribute to the diagnosis.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for collecting, accessioning, labeling, and processing specimens as required to produce and distribute a microscopic slide representative of the specimen to be diagnosed. • Ensure that all established quality control criteria are met in performance of all stains and/or antibody applications, and must have the ability to establish and monitor quality control programs. • Recognize factors which affect procedures, processing and/or staining results, and resolve existing problems, including proper antibody applications in Immunohistochemistry, with documentation. • Evaluate, modify, and/or design procedures that address routine and Immunohistochemical staining sites, and/or Insituhybridization. • Perform the necessary calculations to produce accuracy in all reagent preparations, antibody delutions and antigen retrieval solutions. • Actively participate in teaching, staff development, and continuing education programs which include demonstrations and bench training, as well as designing, implementing, and evaluating a teaching/learning experience through formal and informal programs. • Recognize and prevent malfunction of instruments and equipment, performing maintenance as necessary. • Responsible for decision making based on experience and/or education and for giving direction and assistance to other laboratory personnel. • Recognize problems, identify cause, determine solutions and take corrective action as appropriate. • Responsible for own work and decisions. • Perform high complexity testing as indicated.

• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Education: Must be a Secience related degree Experience: 1 Year Related Clinical Experience
