CAMC Health System is Hiring an Environmental Services Tech 4 -- Operating Room -- Memorial Hospital Near Charleston, WV

Accountable for maintaining an assigned area of the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly fashion. This position is expected to report any defects or repairs needed to maintain the physical appearance of the Hospital and its grounds. Employee may access secure medication supply areas to complete assigned job duties.

Responsibilities

• Dust mop and wet mop hard floor surfaces with disinfectant solution according to department floor maintenance procedures. • Interact with patients and patient environment while performing duties. • Remove waste following the proper Waste Handling and Waste Removal procedures and safety protocols. • Remove wax finish build up from hard floor surfaces, reapply wax finish polish via spray buffing or burnishing the finished (waxed) hard floor surfaces according to department floor maintenance procedures. • Buff hard floor surfaces to maintain appearance. • Extract carpet/furniture as required per predetermined schedule and areas not scheduled as requested. • Vacuum carpet using conventional vacuum cleaner or large industrial vacuum cleaner. • Have knowledge and skill to determine what supplies are needed and how to use requested cleaning supplies. • Buff carpet as required per predetermined schedules and areas not scheduled as requested. • Report equipment repairs needed and clean equipment after use upon return to the department. • Set up meeting rooms per request of schedule. • Perform duties as required for Environmental Services Tech responsibilities. • Move furniture as requested. • Cleaning and sanitation of both Procedural and Strict Sterile areas with the Terminal cleaning process and follow up with Cycle cleaning schedules. • Knowledge of direct Operating Room Suites Cleaning following the AORN guidelines. • Competent with knowledge and usage of all floor care and floor maintenance equipment. • Complete restorative stage projects such as but not limited to; strip/refinish floors, top scrubbing floors, deep extraction cleaning of carpets. • Will assist in cleanup of large spills in accordance to type of spill and safety precautions required. • Will assist in large, bulk, or heavy furniture moves, including equipment and supply pallets. • Will assist in any disaster or triage events that may require additional assigned tasks or short notice tasks for providing flood cleanups, disaster tent or decontamination tents set up assistance, and cot placements. • Complete miscellaneous projects assigned by department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.
