Cambridge Senior Living is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Rice, WI

Overview:

This position is responsible for assisting the Clinical LPN with monitoring the overall healthcare coordination and oversight of resident care in each neighborhood and acting as a leader in the Clinical Care department.

Job Description:

• Providing personal care for residents according to Individual Service Plan with a respectful attitude and without rushing them, and maintaining resident-centered conversations.
• Nail care & podiatry list for incoming podiatrist
• Completing initial skin checks as deemed necessary per ISP, physician orders, or Cambridge Standing Orders, and reporting any concerns to the RN/LPN or designee.
• Demonstrating infection control procedure by handling and disposing of linens, soiled clothing, or supplies properly.
• Communicate with families and MCOs on supplies needed for resident care and complete ordering of items if necessary.
• Assisting on the floor when all tasks are completed and answering call pendants in a timely manner.
• Obtaining monthly weights on all residents and documenting accordingly in the electronic medical record.
• Assist Director of Clinical Care with providing education on charting compliance and appropriate nursing delegated tasks.
• Assist Director of Clinical Care or designee with appropriate incident follow-up tasks.
• Reviewing new orders and assisting in the transcription process of resident MARs as directed by Director of Clinical Care or designee.
• Assisting with medication ordering and pharmacy cycle fill weekly.
• Assisting residents in transporting to scheduled appointments for exams, if necessary.
• Providing support to the Clinical Care staff in checking inventory of medication carts and medication room and regularly re-ordering anything not on cycle fill.
• Daily check of all neighborhoods including, tasks completed, help you can assist with, any resident not feeling well, having issues etc.
• As needed staff education on care and facility tasks
• Completing your specific daily check list and all audits scheduled to be completed.
• Providing support for the facilitation of communication between Clinical Care staff and Management Team to ensure all communication is received/delivered by/to the Clinical Care Assistants and Management Team.
• Assisting fellow team members in maintaining a clean, homelike environment that is free from hazards by tidying up spaces, cleaning up after residents, and ensuring that they always look presentable.
• Arriving for scheduled shifts on time.
• Following the appropriate protocol for calling-in or trading shifts when necessary.
• Attending all mandatory staff in-services.
• Following rules and regulations outlined in DHS 83 and CSL Policies and Procedures that are not specifically outlined above

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years’ experience in an Assisted Living community or similar setting/position

• 2 years' management experience in a healthcare setting 

• Active RN, LPN or MA required

• CBRF Registry, CPR/AED certified, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care experience preferred, but not required
