The Role:

The Cambridge Rindge and Latin School seeks a Social Worker, Grades 9-12, to join its caring and innovative community. The position will report directly to the Learning Community Dean and will collaborate with CRLS administrative leaders, other Social Workers, the CPS Lead Teacher for Social Emotional Learning and the Lead Social Worker for Social Emotional Learning to implement and sustain school-wide tiered systems of support for student social emotional wellbeing and academic achievement, and assist with identification and implementation of a district framework for social, emotional and behavioral health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with students and caregivers in the school community to support social emotional wellbeing and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate and work with CRLS students, staff and caregivers to support students experiencing behavioral and mental health challenges.
  • Engage staff in training and efforts to increase the school’s ability to identify and support students experiencing behavioral and mental health challenges.

Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Social Worker you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred, in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience working with diverse clinical populations, including DCF youth, and unique learners.
  • Ability to collaborate and consult effectively with administration, staff, students, and other stakeholders to address a broad range of needs.
  • Ability to assess complex situations and design whole school interventions in conjunction with school administrators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in program administration and development.
  • Required MA License: School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor, LCSW or LICSW School Social Worker.
