We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 160 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

Community Schools at Forsyth Satellite Academy is focused on improving the attendance and community engagement of the students in partnership with the DOE staff. The program will have a significant impact on attendance outreach, parent and student resources as well as build school community. A main component of the program is to create, maintain as well as integrate external partnerships into the school community.

Position: Case Manager

Reports To: LTW Program Director

Location: 198 Forsyth St. New York, NY 10002

What The Case Manager Does:

  • Follow-up with students and with referral organizations regarding student contact and progress with referral organization.
  • Develop attendance improvement strategies in consultation with school personnel to assure that attendance services are in line with those projected in the school.
  • Obtain student attendance information for each student daily in order to initiate the tracking and documentation of each student in cohort.
  • Inform DOE Counselor of students in need of referral services.
  • Provide all required information for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual/academic year reports.
  • Prepare marketing materials for the program.
  • Reach out and market the program to the families/community in order to recruit students.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate events (i.e. - family events, leadership activities).
  • Participate in meetings/conferences with parents, School Liaison, School-based Teams/personnel and teachers for continuous dialogue communication about student’s attendance.
  • Input student attendance data into automated database.
  • Prescreen students over the telephone for eligibility for the school and set up new student interviews and orientation.
  • Outreach to outside organizations regarding such matters as education, healthcare, housing, legal issues, etc. as resources for students.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Assist with community events including planning, preparation and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or BSW) or three (3) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Department of Education (DOE) fingerprint clearance and maintain its compliance. This will be completed during Pre-employment clearance.

Other Requirements:

  • Three (3) Years of Experience with High School aged youth
  • Bilingual in English & French or Arabic speaking preferred

Compensation: -$ 42,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status: -Full-time (35 hours per week)
