Busy multi-specialty Outpatient Surgery Center located in Camarillo, is seeking an experienced Peri-Operative GI Registered Nurse. This role requires the nurse to assist in daily clinical operations of the surgery center in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures. Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment. The pre-operative nurse is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care in the pre-operative period of the patient’s surgical experience. Hours will vary from 11AM or 12Pm to 5PM or 5:30 PM with a possibility of being open on Saturdays.

Responsibilities include:

• Pre-op patients prior to surgery
• Patient assessment, urine dip stick and review pre-op labs
• Verify intake health information
• Start IV and monitor patient’s status
• Intra-op documentation, gather supplies, fluid, and additional supplies as needed
• Assist anesthesia, scrub tech, and surgeon in OR
• Prepare/set up OR per case, scrub/prep patient surgical site for surgery
• Apply post-surgical dressings and garments, and assist to turn over OR
• Monitor patient post-operatively and perform assessments throughout recovery
• Provide patient and family with discharge instructions.

Work Experience
Minimum 1 year clinical experience in an OR setting.

Licenses & Certifications
CA RN License

ACLS/BLS certification required

Excellent clinical skills.
Decision making and problem solving ability.
Caring bed side manner

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
