JOB
We are currently seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to join our team as Summer League Swim Coaches. This dynamic position requires flexibility in morning and evening availability as our teams actively participate in the Southern Maryland Swim League, engaging in swim meets every Tuesday and Thursday evenings across Calvert, Saint Mary's, and Charles Counties. Coaching responsibilities extend to overseeing practices held from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In addition to technical expertise in swim coaching, successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, as the role involves interacting with parents and collaborating with the Southern Maryland Swim League Board. Regular attendance at board meetings is a mandatory aspect of this position, ensuring effective coordination and alignment with the league's objectives. Provides instruction on swimming techniques for a competitive swim program. Prepares participants for swimming competition by implementing appropriate training for the age groups.
Essential Job Functions
Leads competitive swim training and implements swim workouts.
Prepares workout plans as required for the various levels of athlete.
Teaches competitive swimming techniques as required.
Prepares the meet seeding.
Assists with the preparation of the facility to carry out practices and competitions.
Supervises athletes participating in swimming competitions.
Assists League Representative with organizing volunteers for meets.
Assigns and supervises work of assistant swim coaches as needed.
Other Job Duties (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.).
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.)
Knowledge of--
Modern swimming techniques.
Ability to--
Deal effectively with the public.
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.)
Training and/or Education:
None
Experience:
Two years as an Assistant Swim Coach. Two years of competitive swimming.
Licenses or Certificates:
None
Special Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.
Subject to background investigation.
Physical Demands:
Work requires medium to heavy physical effort.
Unusual Demands:
None

Nonexempt
Compensation Steps:
H15: $21.60 per hour
