POSITION OVERVIEW The Safety and Facilities Manager is a critical player in the Calvert Operations team, and responsible for overseeing and managing individuals within the facility as well as managing the physical infrastructure and assets to ensure a safe environment. The professional will have responsibilities that span across the Calvert Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of the highest level of quality and safety. The professional shall deliver on hers/his responsibilities in alignment with the direction set by the Vice President of Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop, implement and enforce safety policies, manuals and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Oversee and coordinate the safety training programs and inspections to promote safe work habits
  • Maintain safety records for compliance and audit purposes to align with OSHA standards and regulations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility
  • Manage building maintenance and repairs of grounds and property
  • Manage fleet and facility budgets and expenses
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance and repairs of all vehicles in the fleet
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of all equipment, including calibration of critical tools
  • Assist with licensing, decals, and DOT requirements
  • Vehicle insurance claim reporting and post-accident repair/replacement
  • Procurement of vehicles for fleet
  • Oversee and manage fleet GPS system
  • Manage daily workflow for Warehouse and Inventory Specialist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimal of 5 years of proven and successful experience in the construction industry; mechanical preferred
  • Field construction experience with an ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions in a construction environment
  • Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution
  • Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools & equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Understanding of the construction & service mindset
  • Experience with computer operating systems, such as MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher, MS Planner, MS Teams, MS Schedule, Dropbox, PDF forms & creator
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced project environment
  • Ability to work with budgets and conduct analysis’ with computing tools

Licensing/Certification: Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Active OSHA 30 certification.
