School Nurse and Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Head of School
FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Hours: 28 Hours, Part-time
Campus: Melbourne

Job Summary:
To support the school’s leadership effectiveness by providing proactive support and assistance to school administrative leaders, teachers, parents, and students. The School Nurse/Administrative Assistant is responsible for all aspects of customer service and educational professionalism and all forms of communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Have knowledge of medical needs and issues of students who report to the school clinic
· Distribute and log student medications as needed (1 Corinthians 14:40)
· Discuss with parents and or caregivers medical concerns and treatment requirements (lice, ringworm, pine eye, etc.)
· Assure all necessary medical vaccinations have been received by students and are properly documented
· Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in the classroom and school
· Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the school (Provers 11:13)
· Check and respond to voicemail and school email regularly
· Share responsibility as a backup for the receptionists as needed
· Keep the various filing systems up to date and organized
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
· Must hold a Nursing Degree
· Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality when handling highly sensitive documents and information regarding administrative school matters (Proverbs 11:13)
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Publisher, Excel, etc.), as well as appropriate medical databases
· Social perceptiveness – being aware of diverse personalities and having Godly discernment to react and respond to situations as needed (Philippians 2:4)
· Be able to lift 20 lbs.

· Regular attendance and participation in a Bible-believing church
· Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do, with a servant heart and optimistic attitude (Philippians 2:3)

· Function as a productive part of school staff and attend staff meetings in coordination with direct supervisor (1 Peter 4:10)
