About the Position:

Under the general direction of the Deputy District Director of Transportation Planning and Local Assistance, the incumbent serves as the Chief of the Office of Multimodal System Planning and is responsible for the district wide management of various planning functions including System Planning, Freight System Planning, Strategic Investment Planning, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Support. The incumbent provides leadership and direction to staff and ensures that all work is performed in accordance with Caltrans policies and equity objectives and in support of the Caltrans Strategic Plan and the Climate Action Plan for Transportation Infrastructure. The incumbent informs State, regional, and local decision makers regarding the long-range vision for State Transportation System corridors with consideration for safety, equity, economic prosperity, and climate action. The incumbent also considers local, regional, and interregional transportation needs through identification of multimodal and operational improvements, future programming needs, and priorities in collaboration with partners in the region and State.
