Summary: 

CALM is looking for a driven and dedicated Santa Maria based Trilingual Home Visitor to join its Great Beginnings Department. Operating within natural settings, this integral role involves collaborating with families to offer education and support. Within the program, the Home Visitor specifically aids parents of children from prenatal through the age of 3 years old to strengthen parent-child relationships, promote healthy child development, and enhance overall family well-being. Beyond this scope, the Home Visitor may engage with families of older children, offering behavioral interventions, implementing skill-building strategies, promoting positive parenting practices, and delivering case management services. This broader approach aims to assist families in accessing natural support systems and resources.

How you will make an impact:

· Provide psychoeducation and parenting support to bolster protective factors and mitigate the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences. 

· Partner with families, establish trusting relationships, and maintain regular contact. 

· Facilitate plan development and goal setting that is strength-based, and family led.

· Model parent-child activities that promote healthy attachment and bonding to foster optimal child development.

· Provide developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive interventions. 

· Implement evidence-based curricula and evidence-based interventions with fidelity. 

· Conduct screenings to assess client and their families’ strengths and needs. 

· Provide information and referral services as needed.

· Coordinate with other agencies and affiliates when appropriate to help family with concrete needs and other supports. 

· Maintain clinical productivity standards.

· Complete all documentation in a timely manner and according to agency policy.

· Attend trainings and conferences as needed or required by program manager.

· Participate in community education and outreach activities.

· Participate in regular administrative and clinical supervision, and agency-wide/program meetings. 

· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and serve as a liaison between families, health care providers, and community-based organizations when applicable. 

· Other duties as assigned that pertain to the position.

Compensation:

CALM offers a 10% compensation increase upon licensure. 

CALM offers a $1-3/hour bilingual stipend to employees that use a second language. 

This is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $24-32/hour plus a $3/hour trilingual differential.

The salary range provided denotes the minimum and maximum rates applicable to the position. Factors influencing the placement of newly hired employees within this range include their specific skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and comparison with existing employees in similar roles. Typically, newly hired employees are positioned below the midpoint of the salary range.

Requirements

Role requirements:

• BA Degree in related field from an accredited university or college preferred with one year experience, or AA Degree in early childhood education from an accredited university with experience working in a mental health setting preferred.

· Must have a valid California driver’s license, clean DMV record and criminal record clearance from the DOJ 

• Trilingual in English, Spanish and Mixtec required

Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities:

· Strong computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office and other web-based systems, Zoom, etc.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Able to prioritize competing responsibilities with effective time management skills 

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

· Comfortable providing constructive feedback to staff 

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and demonstrated ability to develop & maintain productive relationships across employee groups. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Flexibility to accommodate evening appointments as needed

· Prolonged periods sitting, listening, and observing or working on a computer 

· Stand, walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

· Drive from one location to another 

· Lift and /or move up to 20 pounds at times
