Position Description

The Scada & Measurement Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of various types of measurement and Scada devices. The primary role is to calibrate, maintain, install and troubleshoot equipment and instruments to ensure they produce reliable and consistent results. 

  • Prioritize and maintain gas measurement equipment to pre-determined time intervals.
  • Witness 3rd party meter proving as required.
  • Install, maintain, and repair gas and liquid samplers and online analyzers.
  • Install, maintain, and repair solar or battery-powered systems supporting liquid/gas metering devices.
  • Ability to use a portable Gas Chromatograph to pull gas samples.
  • Experience with Coriolis meters, Ultra Sonic meters, H2O analyzers, Liquid/Gas Turbine meters and O2 analyzers along with any associated head/display.
  • Ability to inspect meter runs and re-build Junior and Senior meter tube fittings.
  • EOM LACT closeout/shakeout review and data input.
  • Perform installation, calibration, configuration, and maintenance activities on wired and wireless instrumentation for surface facilities and wells.
  • Perform troubleshooting for process equipment hardware and programming of controllers such as PLCs, POCs (pump off controllers), and VSDs (variable speed drives).
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot facilities and well-communications equipment including but not limited to radios, access points, HMI screens, and network switches.
  • Support maintenance, upgrades, and new installs on surface facilities and wells in coordination with other support function teams.
  • Perform testing on end devices, alarms, and shutdowns for new installs and upgrades. 
  • Document automation equipment maintenance. 
  • Analyze automation equipment failures and propose solutions to address the failures so they do not occur in the future. 
  • Support automation parts procurement and monitor current supply to ensure availability of spare parts.
  • Ensure automation equipment is installed and functioning according to the facility design and applicable automation standards.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors when additional support is required to perform work for the Operations team. 
  • Perform automation work in compliance with all corporate and local area safety procedures and policies.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of Oil and Gas experience, have several positions open and therefore will be looking at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of applicable measurement equipment, Scada programming and communication end devices/instrumentation.
  • Meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.
  • Satisfactory completion of background check and drug screen.
  • Working knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of AGA and API standards.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations, have a good mechanical aptitude, writing skills and safety record.
  • Dependable with the ability to work overtime, if necessary.
  • Proficient utilization of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Awareness of cost metrics and analysis.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship required.
