Pay: Starting at $20.00/hour

Summary/Objective:
Operator I will set up, operate, and tend to blend tanks adhering to guidelines and safety protocols. Their responsibilities will include preparing and accurately weighing process containers (typically 55-gallon drums) of intermediate and finished quality products. Secondarily, properly trained and with some guidance perform distillation on essential oil.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform distillations on all stills following procedures either written or verbally communicated.
    • Monitoring and adjusting of process parameters to ensure reliable and consistent finished and intermediate products.
    • Recording of all required information obtained from process units
    • Maintaining cold traps which requires filling, lifting, and dumping ice buckets which weigh from 30-48 pounds.
  • Blending of intermediate and finished quality products
  • Cooling water and/or tower water operation according to establish procedures either written or verbal
  • Handling containers, including:
    • Accurate weighing and taring of containers (typically 55 gallon drums)
  • Maneuvering/transporting up to 500 pound containers using drum carts, and other similar equipment
  • Manipulating charge and discharge hoses over the process containers during charging and discharging operations
  • Driving forklift in a safe and controlled manner according to training procedures
  • Adherence to all Company food safety, BRC, GMP, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain equipment including all vacuum pumps, product pumps, boiler, cold fingers, pneumatics, steam lines, and water systems.
  • Cleaning of all production areas.
  • Safely walking of stairs, and catwalks. Safely climbing of internal and external ladders as needed.
  • Communicate and interact effectively within and across shifts and with manager
  • Be a positive influence on the workforce.
  • Proficient in ERP system including, use of Scanners/PDA/Computers to accurately relieve or add inventory, as well as scan material to assigned locations in the warehouse/ process units.

Other Duties
  • Participate in annual/semi-annual inventory reconciliation.
  • Packaging/Labeling of finished quality products using appropriate hazardous shipping containers and labeling.
  • Assist in developing of new products and processes using new or existing equipment as directed by management/research/development staff.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process problems
  • Loading and unloading trucks, including both company owned and 3rd party.
  • Staging material for sampling and Quality Assurance check in procedures. Provides samples to Laboratory as needed.

Required Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check
