In support of our growing Aftermarket and Production Departments in the United States, Caljan, Inc. is looking for a forward thinking Buyer. Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Buyer is responsible for quoting, updating and maintaining master data including lead time, prices, suppliers, issuing purchase orders, maintaining Order Acknowledgment and past due purchase order reports, and maintaining inventory in an accurate, efficient, and timely fashion.

· You will update and maintain missing order confirmation and past due purchase order reports.

· You will identify vendors based on engineering needs and research alternatives when part shortages delay delivery.

· You will coordinate request for quotes (RFQ’s) price and lead times.

· You will check on materials and parts shortages and expedite as needed.

· You will create, enter, and send Purchase Orders (PO’s) based on company requirements (MRP and Purchase Requisitions).

· You will obtain and enter order confirmations and expedite PO’s as needed.

· You will track deliveries and update Aftermarket Department with any changes in pricing or delivery.

· You will update and maintain part master data, including lead time, pricing, qty discounts, and approved suppliers.

· You will manage, evaluate, and negotiate with and develop strong relationships with new and existing vendors to obtain product and/or service information such as price, availability and delivery options.

· You will develop and maintain solid and working relationships with vendors.

You will work with internal customers (Production, Sales and Service, Warehouse, Production Planning, Engineering, Project Management) to meet business requirements.

· You will record supplier non-conformances in the central database and follow appropriate corrective actions per departmental procedures.

· You will assist in processing returns for defective materials and parts and expedite replacement materials and parts.

· You will assist in reconciling invoices and receiving transaction discrepancies.

· You will assist the Senior Buyer on reviewing purchasing agreements and orders with vendors.

· Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

· Associate’s degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing purchasing capacity

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience of previous procurement and purchasing experience

· Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

Desired Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain

· Minimum of 2 years’ previous procurement experience

· Minimum 2 years’ experience with purchasing custom fabricated metal and plastic components.

· Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products

· Experience working inside an ERP System using MRP to purchase items

· Strong grasp of supply chain procedures

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints

· Ability to provide input and improve procedures and processes

· Math and problem-solving skills

· Strong collaborative/interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a high pressure/continuous change environment

· Customer focused and effective with both internal and external customers

· Strong organizational skills, with an attention to detail

· Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, as well as with cross-functional team members and varying levels of the organization

· Comfortable operating in global organization

· Ability to read and interpret purchasing documents

· Ability to document purchasing procedures

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
