Warehouse Worker:

California Sierra Express has been in business for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV. We're an overnight carrier that primarily serves international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel from all over the globe by air, sea and land.

This is a Part-Time position, 6PM - 10PM, Mon - Fri. You'll be joining a local team of over 30 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time and without damage all throughout the greater Sacramento Area.

Our Warehouse Workers support the Operations Manager and department in the performance of daily activities which includes, but not limited to, operating a forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to load and unload freight. Warehouse workers also record the dimensions and weight of shipments so our office team can enter shipment details into our freight management software.

Our Warehouse Workers stage freight for box truck drivers who load their own trucks. Warehouse workers work efficiently to load and unload our 53’ dry van trailers in a safe and timely manner. Warehouse workers need to have the forklift skills to load and unload trailers high and tight. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight is required.

Our Warehouse Workers accurately label pallets and boxes for shipments and verify the documentation and condition of incoming shipments to assure quality standards are met. Warehouse Workers are responsible for creating workable freight arrangements and staging shipments for staff to effectively inspect, label, load and unload freight.

Warehouse Workers assist in maintaining a safe and clean warehouse and yard. This is a safety sensitive position and falls under federal drug and alcohol regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory. 
• Operate a forklift safely when loading shipments in and out of trailers or staging and stacking in the warehouse.
• Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
• Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
• Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Drivers License, preferred.
3. Minimum of one (1) year of forklift experience.
4. Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to demonstrate basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and some division.
