Duties
Under general supervision from the Information Technology Supervisor II (North Unit, State
Special Schools Support Office, Technology Services Division), the Information Technology
Associate (IT Assoc) provides information technology (IT) support of average difficulty for users
at the California School for The Deaf in Fremont, but may be asked to assist with users at other
State Special Schools locations. The incumbent performs a variety of analytical duties of average
difficulty related to the installation and maintenance of IT hardware and software

Individuals who have eligibility for appointment to the above class (e.g., transfer, list,
reinstatement). Employment provisions as outlined by the Department of Personnel
Administration’s State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current
or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process.
