Basic Function:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Systems and Analytics, providescomprehensive budget analysis, projections, and reporting support for the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Success, to ensure compliance with University and/or federal/states regulations and restrictions. The incumbent analyzes student recruitment and admissions data activity, as well as enrollment data to provide custom reports outlining critical information supporting university enrollment processes. This position is responsible for using knowledge of data processing and interpretation techniques and tools to provide sound business recommendations to leadership.
Representative Duties:
Serve as budget advisor to the VP; support the VP in building effective budgets (income and expense); promote the strategic goals of the Enrollment Management & Student Success division E
Be responsible for preparation, development, and maintenance of division budgets, including budget transfers, reviewing transactions, forecasting, reconciliations, and reviewing the financial implications of decisions. E
Collaborate with departments to support and guidance during the annual budget process; assist with decision making and ad-hoc analysis throughout the fiscal year; provide financial expertise in support of departmental projects and goals. E
Prepare periodic expenditure and variance reports for Enrollment Management budget vs. actuals and provide financial analysis support on budget reconciliation; analyze data and create informed projections based on actual trends. E
Provide detailed analysis of fiscal performance and related financial assumptions and recommend alternatives as needed. Prepare draft budgets for review and approval. E
Work directly and collaboratively with the University Budget Office to maintain consistent business operation and function and participate in the development and maintenance of a university budget and resource allocation model. E
Interpret policy and procedure for the division based on understanding of university policy; serve as point of contact for questions regarding financial procedures and related university policies; ensure financial compliance with University policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations. E
Research, organize, and prepare data pertaining to budgetary or financial issues using software tools such as Excel, Powerpoint and Power BI; develop and maintain policies and procedures to preserve the integrity and functionality of budgets in Colleague. E
Research, develop, modify, and update information for personnel salary expenditures, incorporating information provided by departments, Payroll, and the University Budget Office. Investigate and resolve salary discrepancies. E
Analyze and monitor financial aid processing execution; prepare variance, trend, discrepancy, cost-benefit and other analytical reports and visualizations pertaining to student recruitment, awarding, success, and retention. E
Collect and assemble student-related enrollment and financial aid data. E
Prepare descriptive charts and graphs; identify trends and patterns in complex data sets; analyze and interpret enrollment cycle data with consideration of long-term financial aid, tuition and admission policy. E
Assist in enrollment market research using data and statistical analysis. E
Identify data collection and systems processing problems and opportunities, and recommend solutions to streamline and improve historical and future data reporting integrity. E
Participate in implementing solutions to solve data needs and issues. E
Assist with requests from other campus offices when requested to supply enrollment related reports, surveys and data and assists office with the completion of reporting requirements and audits. E
Represent the Enrollment Systems team in meetings and committees to support the departments and divisions goals and objectives. E
Perform other administrative and budget duties as assigned.
E = Essential Duties

Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Visio, SQL Management Studio and Power BI
Principles and practices of budget preparation, analysis and administration

SQL and Visual Basic query languages
Technical aspects of admission, financial aid, retention, and enrollment processes and practices
Telephone techniques and etiquette
Ability To:
Gather and organize large datasets
Generate Excel models and create presentations for multiple stakeholders
Analyze budget proposals and historical data
Develop budget and forecasting models
Utilize Colleague and Microsoft Office Products (advanced level Excel and Power BI)
Author complex SQL query, using complex joins and analytical functions
Diagram and diagnose business processes, workflows, concepts and technologies
Use critical thinking, problem solving skills and decision-making capabilities
Organize, coordinate and oversee activities related to reporting operations
Understand and resolve issues, complaints or problems in a cross-team environment
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Learn and support University mission, goals, and objectives
Learn, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Work with little direct supervision, solve problems independently, and to ask for help when necessary
Evaluate and utilize methodology and standards to ensure data integrity
Provide query and report generation support to Division staff
Support and participate in the implementation of new software applications, modules and functionality
Work within a deadline-oriented environment
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Produce and maintain documentation and manuals representing explanation of processes, procedures and problem resolution
Communicate end-user needs with appropriate technical specificity to supervisor and ITS
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business related major and any combination of three years of progressive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, financial software implementation and/or oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education experience and one year of experience with enterprise and relational database systems, data/report analysis or related experience.
