ResponsibilitiesResponsible for reducing the burden of injury and improving trauma care within the Facility through injury prevention and public education programs; continuing education for prehospital providers and other health care professionals. Promotes the organization as a tertiary referral center by establishing and maintaining relationships with referring agencies and community members throughout the region. Assess the needs of the community in regards to injury prevention utilizing trauma registry data and local/state statistics. Required to organize and conduct community events and actively seek out opportunities to participate in community based injury prevention groups. Assists in preparation for review by the American College of Surgeons and other agencies. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to Trauma Program Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. Will be required to work the occasional weekend and/or holiday as needed.
