Escrow Officer
Duties:
- Review and analyze contracts and legal documents related to real estate transactions
- Prepare escrow instructions and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Coordinate with lenders, buyers, sellers, and real estate agents to gather necessary information and documentation
- Calculate and verify accurate financial figures for deposits, prorations, and closing costs
- Open and maintain escrow accounts, ensuring all funds are properly deposited and disbursed
- Conduct title searches and obtain title insurance policies
- Facilitate the transfer of funds and documents between parties involved in the transaction
- Prepare closing statements and settlement documents for review and signature
- Coordinate the recording of legal documents with the appropriate government agencies
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the escrow process
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform basic math calculations accurately
- Knowledge of escrow procedures, real estate contracts, and title insurance
- Proficient in using 10-key typing for data entry purposes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Familiarity with banking procedures and financial transactions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues effectively
- Proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
