Job Description and Duties

Most positions at CDCR Enterprise Information Services are eligible for telework. This position is primarily telework and may require in-person attendance when requested. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework scheduled for employee who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. Telework is only available to residents of California.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.Under the general direction of Information Manager I. The incumbent should have an extensive knowledge in Information Technology (IT) concepts, practices, and methods including the phases of software development and life cycle analysis. The Information Technology Supervisor II will be responsible for leading team members on a daily basis in developing comprehensive work plans, coordinating work products/deliverables, and ensuring their timely completion. In addition, the incumbent will work with the Infrastructure Manager, Business Process Owners, Functional and Technical Process Teams to coordinate effective enduser communications, change control, incident handling, and training relative to both the Technical and Functional support activities. The incumbent will convey needed information between the Enterprise Information Services (EIS) staff, customers, Functional and Technical managers/supervisors/leads, contactor staff and other team members. The incumbent will supervise the implementation of software changes, legacy interfaces, and software development; support data analysis, cleansing and conversion, documentation, and custom report development; supervise testing functions including planning and testing software and processes and ensuring the security of data.

*The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
