CALIFORNIA AUTISM CENTER INC is Hiring a Behavior Technician (RBT) Near Merced, CA

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) help children (ages between 18 months and six years old) who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder develop coping strategies through the use of a playful, positive environment to learn social, behavioral, and daily living skills to succeed in the classroom and the community. RBTs work in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis to shape clients' lives by evaluating, tracking progress, and collecting data to improve behavior.
Registered Behavior Technicians are evaluated quarterly for performance with the opportunity for merit increases each quarter. We are a growing company with expanding services in the Central Valley and one of the only providers in the region accredited by the BHCOE for quality ABA therapy. We can offer full-time (including medical benefits and paid time off) and part-time positions. Our Treatment Center's hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with no weekends, no evenings, and especially no driving!
Key Responsibilities:
  • A Behavior Technician works one-on-one with clients, collecting data on skill acquisition and seeking to reduce behavioral excesses. All data is collected on iPads.
  • A great candidate has a positive attitude, patience, and perseverance to make a difference in children's lives.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in ABA, psychology, child development, or related field is a plus!).
  • A valid driver's license with valid proof of auto insurance and/or listed as a covered driver for the vehicle you'll use to commute. We are a center-based program, but some travel may be required for training and limited home sessions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and capability of using an Apple iPad daily to track data during sessions and communicate with team members.
  • Adept at working with special needs children.
  • Minimum of 16 hours of availability in four-hour blocks (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
  • The ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • The ability to provide an immunization record* with proof of TB test clearance

Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, child development, speech and language pathology, or other related fields.
  • Previous experience working with children (ages infant to 16) in a classroom or 1:1 setting.
  • One year of experience in applied behavior analysis, using pivotal response training, discrete trial training, picture exchange communication system, etc., in a naturalist environment.
  • Bilingual in Hmong, Spanish, or American Sign Language.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (provided for free to all new hires!).
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
