Caliber The Wealth Development Company is Hiring a Remote VP of Capital Markets - Mid/South Atlantic

Caliber is seeking a full-time VP of Capital Markets to support our Mid and South Atlantic markets. Must reside in the assigned geographic territory. 

This position represents Caliber through building relationships with Broker/Dealer and RIA partners and raising capital from those partners for Calibers various offerings. This role will educate our partners on the different offerings available through Caliber and help to achieve the company growth towards its $5B target. 

You will be responsible for meeting the capital raise targets assigned, establishing relationships internally and externally to grow the Caliber brand, capturing sales information on contact information on a company CRM, and providing intelligence on competitive products in the market. To be successful you must learn the products, build relationships internally and externally, and represent the Caliber brand with integrity. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sell Caliber’s offerings to wealth managers.
  • Raise a capital amount agreed upon annually with the Sales Manager during goal setting discussions for a specific territory.
  • Work closely with internal partners to grow specified territory.
  • Developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with third party distributors which include regional broker/dealers, independent financial planners, registered investment advisors, and banks.
  • Providing management with daily reporting on all sales metrics, via Sales Force platform
  • Consistently work to build relationships with advisors, and support parties through proactive telephone calls and contact follow up.
  • Portray a strong understanding of the capital markets and securities industry and demonstrate proficiency in alternative investments.
  • Learn, understand, and professionally represent all Caliber strategies while keeping up to date with competing strategies and products.
  • Work with internal partner to Exercise deliberate and thoughtful planning of scheduling, calendar management and multi-tasking of all outbound/inbound calls, projects, and campaigns.
  • Manage prospects throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Drive attendance to various meetings, territory roadshows and firm events
  • Manage the time and tasks of an inside sales team member(s) depending on business volume.
  • Conducts the following programs to develop these relationships and promote Caliber products: group broker/dealer product and market training sessions, client seminars, broker/dealer conferences and annual meetings, relationship building with sales management at key firms.
  • Responds to inquiries and resolves problems of a complex nature with key regional representatives and firms.
  • Stays current with market, economic and industry trends, as well as competitor products.
  • Supplies input concerning industry developments and client needs for incorporation into company’s strategic marketing decisions.

Qualifications (required unless otherwise stated):

  • Experience as a licensed Financial Advisor, Investment Advisor or Broker Dealer Representative.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required.
  • 5 years relevant industry experience as an external wholesaler with strong working relationships/rolodex.
  • Experience selling private placements, 1031, and Reg D offerings.
  • Must have a proven track record of sales success.
  • Must have the ability to travel overnight approximately 75% of time.
  • Must reside within assigned geographic territory.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including but not limited to group presentation demonstrating financial sales skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use best judgement to work through challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to processes and deal with ambiguity.
  • Clear, effective oral and written communication skills are required, must be careful listener and clear communicator.

Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment with occasional travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The employee frequently communicates with internal team members, investors, and vendors. This role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. This role constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and printer and occasionally moves items up to 50 lbs. for various projects.
