Busy orthodontic practice is looking for a motivated, friendly assistant to join our team! A TEAM PLAYER WHO BELIEVES IN 5-STAR CUSTOMER CARE. This is a full time position (approximately 32-36 hours per week), Monday through Thursday with occasional Fridays.
Relevant orthodontic experience preferred. Spanish speaking a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures and treatments
- Take and develop dental x-rays and other diagnostic images
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical coding and billing
- Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Schedule appointments and manage the orthodontic office calendar
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as greeting patients and answering phone calls
- Adhere to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills:
- Proficiency in Dentrix, Epic, Ortho Trac, or similar dental software systems
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of dental terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management and coding
