ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Currently searching for one Part-Time Research Associate to work in a funded research project sponsored by the US Bureau of Reclamation through a subcontract under the University of Colorado Boulder. The direct supervisor for this research position at Cal Poly Pomona is Dr. Ali Sharbat, Professor of Civil Engineering and Project Director.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

The research associate will assist the project director with all aspects of the project that is related to desalination and brine management and lab testing. The research associate will assistant in various task of the project including but not limited to: library studies, literature review, field work, field surveying and sampling, water sampling and analysis, quality control, quality assurance, experimental design, data analysis, meeting attendance, and development of project reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a student in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering majors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Internship experience in engineering field (preferred).
• Water research training/experience is preferred.
• Possess good writing communication, self-starter, and leadership skills and have the ability work in a team setting and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff.
