ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: AGRIscapes Outreach is seeking College of Agriculture and other CPP Graduate/Undergraduate students for up to 20 hours/week to assist with various activities involving events and operations as needed. Work would involve flexible schedules based on needs, including some weekends. There is an emphasis on activities surrounding the events such as the Pumpkin Festival as well as Discovery Farm operations and Field Trips.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the CPP Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Enterprises offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The CPP Enterprises also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Enterprises administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Enterprises contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

• Assist with event organization and preparation, including Pumpkin Fest
• Work various tasks during public events and leading school Field Trips
• Assist in developing and maintaining Discovery Farm and the Children's Garden
• Participate with AGRlscapes Outreach activities
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a current Cal Poly Pomona student
• Self-motivated and able to follow directions
• Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Enjoy helping children and adults learn about Agriculture

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with the public
• Retail / Cashiering Experience
