Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assembly Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the assembly processes to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will lead a team of assembly supervisors and operators, manage resources, and implement best practices to ensure the timely delivery of our products. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of assembly operations, and a commitment to process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all assembly activities to ensure the efficient and timely production of products while maintaining quality standards
  • Supervise, train, and mentor assembly supervisors and operators, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Manage and optimize resource allocation, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to meet production targets while controlling costs
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards, conduct regular inspections, and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, implementing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies as applicable
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety awareness
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for assembly while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs
  • Develop and manage the assembly department budget, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production planning, engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and alignment with company goals
  • Generate regular reports on assembly performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to senior management

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as an Assembly Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of assembly processes, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools for planning and analysis
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Budget management and cost control expertise
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, business management, or related field

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
