Cadre5 is Hiring a DevOps R&D-ARM Near Knoxville, TN
DevOps R&D-ARM Founded in 1999 in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, Cadre5 provides innovative technical solutions to our customers locally and nationally. Our Cadre5 Lab Partners division has partnered with the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to hire a DevOps Engineer. In this position, this individual will be embedded within our Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) group in the Energy and Environmental Sciences Directorate providing DevOps support.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Relocation to the Oak Ridge area may be required. Why Cadre5?

Job Responsibilities: There are various technical tasks that will need to be performed in this role. Some of these tasks can include:
Develop solutions utilizing the including, but not limited to the following technologies: containers, Slurm schedulers, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
Develop and operate back-end data analysis workflows and processing at scale in an HPC environment.
Design and develop solutions on hybrid HPC and Cloud Computing Platforms
Supporting various scripting languages, including Python and Bash, in a Linux environment.
Deploy containers in a Docker/Kubernetes environment using CI/CD pipelines.
Develop documentation for the various solutions you produce.
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of DevOps experience.
2 years of Linux Systems Engineering experience.
Experience managing a Kubernetes container environment.
Experience building, deploying, and managing Docker containers in a CI/CD environment.
Strong experience with GitLab
Knowledge of scripting languages, including Python and Bash.
Demonstrated capabilities to work in a dynamic environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills suitable for user support and the ability to work well with peer system administrators are required.
The ability to obtain a security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance if needed which requires US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field)
Experience working in an HPC environment
Experience working with databases, including NoSQL, Postgres, and MySQL.
Knowledge of virtualization and container infrastructure (VMware).
Previous experience working in a government, scientific or other highly technical environment strongly desired.
Desire to learn and adopt new tools and technologies.
Good documentation skills are also desired.
