Company Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading Cadence Education’s day-to-day operations, and administrative functions for the major operational components of the company, such as focusing on school leadership, financial growth, business administration, program quality, customer service, and acquisition integration. This position identifies and leads opportunities, strategies, and actions that advance Cadence Education's mission, resulting in best-in-class early childhood educational services, business growth and creating long-term sustainability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.

Responsible for leading day-to-day operations and administrative support functions to ensure optimal efficiencies.

2.

Strong contributor to the business strategy development by assessing risks, noting opportunities for market expansion, setting overall goals and metrics, and proposing projects or systems to move the company forward.

3.

Has ultimate responsibility for ongoing business operations within the organization and serves as a key member of the executive team. In addition, has focus on safety and compliance measures in the field.

4.

Establish and assure policies and procedures, objectives, quality and improvement metrics, and other benchmarks of effective system integration.

5.

Develops the organization's short- and long-term goals and strategies and ensures that business processes and operational controls are in place to support those goals and strategies.

6.

Evaluates existing processes across multiple functional areas and develops efficiencies and performance improvements. Tracks and reports on operating results to ensure consistent growth and progress towards achieving organizational goals.

7.

Responsible for transmitting information from corporate office to field staff for consistent messaging. In turn, provides feedback and advocates for field staff to the corporate office.

8.

Represents field operations with board members and other external parties regarding the financial and operational performance of the company.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires the ability to demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment and achieve results; and demonstrate success in building collaborative, high performing teams characterized by hands-on, results orientation aligned with strategic plans and goals.
  • Requires excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Requires ability to effectively interact with management and board members and operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
  • Must be an entrepreneurial team player who can multitask.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage and lead large organizations through periods of rapid and numerous changes.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
  • Ability to travel up to 65% of time.

Education or equivalency:

  • Requires a master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible operational leadership related experience preferably in a large, complex service organization that demonstrates a deep understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience must include demonstrated multi-site leadership ability including management of staff, budgets, and multiple functional areas.
  • Prefer experience in Early Childhood Education
