Job Description:

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is seeking a motivated and talented summer intern enrolled in a mechanical or aerospace engineering program to join our team. In this role, you will work both independently and collaboratively to support various projects involving electromechanical designs, prototypes, and UAV construction. The internship will last 10-12 weeks and you will be expected to work 100% on-site.

More About the Role:

  • Work individually and as part of a small team to complete multiple replications and electromechanical designs and prototypes.
  • Perform prototype design based on customer requirements and develop associated design and technical packages.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with CAD modeling software such as Solidworks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings for production efforts, manuals, and proposals.
  • Draft detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and products.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a mechanical or aerospace engineering program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD modeling software.
  • Experience producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Work individually and as part of a small team to complete multiple replications and electromechanical designs and prototypes.
  • Perform prototype design based on customer requirements and develop associated design and technical packages.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with CAD modeling software such as Solidworks, Creo, or Fusion 360.

  • Draft detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and products.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Solidworks certifications (CSWA, CSWP, CSWE).
  • Experience with COTS multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft, including hobbyist UAS experience.
  • Familiarity with a range of materials and components used in UAV construction, such as carbon fiber, aluminum alloys, and various power plants.
  • Experience / familiarity with the design and construction of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
