POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex business operations and recommending solutions to align individual business functions with organizational goals. This position may collaborate with one or more business units or functions. As a senior team member, the Business Analyst is a strategic business partner to our client. It understands critical business drivers and builds effective relationships throughout the organization. The BA is responsible for providing guidance related to technical processes to support and align efforts to meet the project, customer, and business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience working independently to deliver results
Requirements elicitation: apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders and engage team members
Requirements analysis: collaborates with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epic stories into features and user stories that can be understood and used by members of the development team
Works with other stakeholders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. Ensures that project/department milestones and goals are met and adhere to the approved budget
Works closely with Project Manager III (Senior Project Manager/Task Lead) and business units to gain an in-depth understanding of customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies
Assists other project managers on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions
Responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end to end to identify and address operational and technological risks to identify opportunities to eliminate or reengineer processes to improve efficiency, focusing on quality improvement and ensuring data is reliable and valid
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to obtain Public Trust
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, or equivalent plus four (4)
years related experience, or MS in Computer Information Systems plus two (2)
years related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
Three (3) or more years of experience working on Federal contracts
Experience with meeting/video conferencing tools (MS Team, WebEx, etc.)
Strong analytical aptitude, an ability to structure complex or undefined business
problems
Three (3) or more years of experience conducting strategic business analysis and
process improvement of similar size and scope
Working knowledge of Development Life Cycles
PREFERRED SKILLS/ED/EXPERIENCE
Graduate degree preferred but not required
PMP Certification
Experience implementing dashboards utilizing tools such as Power Bl
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires standing, walking, sitting, hand use, occasional lifting, reaching, and carrying.
Moderate noise level, with occasional outside work subject to temperature fluctuations.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods using a phone or other forms of business communication
TRAVEL
Local DC Metro travel (commute) is required.
