Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Plumbing Instructor to join our educational institution. The Plumbing Instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive plumbing courses to students, providing hands-on training, and ensuring that students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the plumbing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, exceptional teaching abilities, and a passion for mentoring and guiding future plumbers.
Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development:
  • Develop detailed lesson plans, course materials, and educational resources for plumbing courses.
  • Design curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices in plumbing.
  • Instruction and Training:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures, demonstrations, and workshops on various plumbing topics, including pipefitting, installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Provide hands-on training in plumbing techniques, tools, and equipment usage.
  • Supervise and assist students during practical exercises and projects.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, and practical assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Industry Updates and Professional Development:
  • Stay abreast of developments, trends, and advancements in the plumbing industry.
  • Continuously update course content and teaching methods to reflect industry changes and technological advancements.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.
  • Enforce classroom rules and policies to ensure discipline and respect among students.
  • Student Support and Mentorship:
  • Offer academic and career guidance to students interested in pursuing careers in plumbing.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students facing challenges in their academic or personal lives.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to enhance the overall quality of the plumbing program.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a licensed plumber.
  • Proven experience in teaching, training, or mentoring individuals in plumbing techniques and practices.
  • Hold relevant certifications or licenses in plumbing (e.g., journeyman plumber, master plumber).
  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for education and a genuine desire to help students succeed in the plumbing industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Plumbing, Education, or a related field.
