Cabot Corporation is Hiring a Commercial Support Specialist (part time / temporary 1.5 year contract) Near Riga, MI

Your Role at Cabot

Act as a support to the Technical Sales Managers and become the first contact point when customer issues are escalated beyond customer care. Be the prime commercial contact for transactional accounts which do not require regular face to face contact with a Technical Sales Manager. 

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Administer the pricing, rebate and commission approval process. Maintain a record of current and historical prices.
  • Record negotiated rebates and commissions into the system. Record and monitor payment terms. Provide information as required to allow setting of transfer pricing.
  • Calculate price amendments where they have been agreed as subject to a formula adjustment. Communicate the new prices directly to the customer.
  • Initiate account set up in the CRM system and ensure the proper set-up in coordination with the different departments (record and monitor payment terms, credit limit etc).
  • Administer distributor evaluation process and circulate results twice per year. Keep a record of distributor/sales representative contracts and inform sales manager when renewal negotiations are due.
  • Enter sample requests into the CRM system and ensure that all requests are fulfilled in a timely fashion. Maintain a record of samples tracking their follow-up either by Cabot or distributor. Maintain a record of sample requests and outcome.
  • Be the initial point of contact for customer/prospect enquiries. Filter these enquiries re-directing to Cabot sales team, distributor or responding directly as appropriate. Follow these enquiries in order to ensure that new business opportunities are maximized. Work closely with technical service to ensure correct samples are dispatched and customer requests for specifications, etc are answered promptly.
  • Conducting market research via customer calls or Internet search. Gather and analyze data to assess potential sales and learn more about the market.

  • Organize and maintain the file of “paper” documents: customers information, documentation, vendor questionnaires etc. Maintain an adequate stock of promotional literature and be responsible for distribution direct to customers.
  • Work with Customer Care to ensure that customer order process works smoothly in line with customer expectations and Cabot capabilities. Have a broad understanding of product line, supply chain procedures and work internally to solve supply issues and ‘extraordinary’ requests from customers.
  • Manage the product specification database and update product data sheets in cooperation with Technical Product Manager.
  • Have an understanding of product safety and quality requirements. Be a channel for statements and requests relating to SHE approvals.
  • Support the A/R department in their efforts to minimize overdue payments. Keep sales team aware of outstanding issues.
  • Prepare monthly reports of sales, opportunities, new product introductions.
  • Collect the sales forecasts from Technical Sales Manager and by liaison with customers, record them in the Sales forecasting system and communicate them to the Planning group. Identify new trends and validate with customers. Ensure that Target Account List opportunities are entered into the forecast system on a timely basis.
  • Support the Technical Sales Managers and communicate with customers the actions and conclusions relating to complaints and improvement opportunities.
  • Attend Customer events, trade fairs, sales meetings as deemed appropriate.
  • Performs other duties and job tasks according to employer’s written and verbal orders.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Higher education (might be last year’s student) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills - ability to balance multiple priorities and to work urgently toward achieving desired results.
  • Keen to learn about new products and applications.
  • Autonomous and resourceful self-motivated requiring minimal supervision.
  • Customer focus, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate, good knowledge of Excel is necessary.
  • Fluent English.

Additional Information:

  • Part time (4 or 5 days per week) / 20 hrs per week.
  • Working hours: starting shift from 9:00am or 10:00am.
  • Salary: 800 - 1000 EUR Gross depends on previous experience.
  • Monthly allowance and Yearly bonus.
  • Health insurance from first day of work.
  • Temporary 1.5 year contract with possibility of extension.
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 or 2 days on site and 2 days’ work from home).
