Cabot Citrus OPCO LLC is Hiring a Golf Course Maintenance Near Brooksville, FL

Cabot Citrus Farms
Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is situated on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse and extensive practice facilities. The property is a short 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring- fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Position Overview
Are you someone who loves operating machinery, working hard outside, and being inspired to create and maintain pristine turf at a world class golf property? A vital role to Cabot’s world class success, you add value by operating and maintaining our large & small equipment, including riding & push mowers, utility & passenger vehicles, as well as other maintenance equipment. You will be expected to work flexible hours – mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as required. You are proud to represent the Cabot brand, and proactively act as an ambassador and role model.
A strong WORK ETHIC, you are energized by the variety of challenging tasks involved in world class golf course maintenance, grounds construction and landscape work and are eager to help those around you develop skills and learn key industry skills that result in world class turf.
You are an INSPIRING LEADER who is energized inbuilding, leading andtraining other team members on safe equipment operation and overseeing on-course maintenance activity to ensure Cabot’s world class standards.
You COMMUNICATE TO CONNECT with a positive and team-oriented communication style with the intent of winning together. Whether verbal or written, you are consistent, clear and proactive always acting in a professional manner with guests, suppliers and associates.
Your LEARNING MINDSET, AGILITY and ability to think on your feet enables you to quickly learn golf terminology and the importance of each playable areas such as green, tees, fairway, bunker. You enthusiastically participate in all Cabot training programs, assignments & activities and develop proficiencies with all equipment while gaining thorough knowledge in the grooming practices for fine fescue.

Executional Excellence
Under the guidance of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent you will:
  • Ensure world-class presentation of daily course set up and excellent golf course conditions are achieved prior to the first tee time each day
  • Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment at all times
  • Safely operate heavy duty and maintenance equipment
  • Accurately complete equipment daily check in records
  • Complete topdressing, aerating, verti-cutting, grooming/brushing and fertilizing tasks
  • Perform irrigation, fertilizer and product applications while displaying responsible environmental protection practices
  • Always use proper PPE when operating equipment for self and others
  • Operate gasoline, diesel and electric utility vehicles and other maintenance equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner
  • Complete pre-shift staging of equipment and resources daily, as required by other team members
  • Identify unsafe areas and activities and report hazards immediately
  • Continuous debris and garbage collection throughout the golf resort
  • Inspect diesel, gasoline, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily; report any equipment problems, failures or damages to the Assistant Superintendent and/or Mechanic immediately
  • Reports golf course conditions and all disciplinary issues to the Superintendent or Director of Agronomy
  • Other duties will be assigned as the operation evolves
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience with the safe operation of motorized equipment
  • Experience with the principals to safely operate gasoline and diesel engines
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate hand blower, trimmers, and other various hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions in a timely and efficient manner
  • Positive attitude and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Learn golf terminology and the importance of each playable areas such as greens, tees, fairway, bunker and understand the game of golf
  • Tier 1: No formal experience
  • Tier 2: 1-2 years’ experience in golf course maintenance or other related experience
  • Tier 3: Two or more years’ experience in golf course maintenance or related experience and the ability to operate a tractor, forklift, skidsteer, and back-hoe; must possess a valid drivers license
Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain and wind
  • Ability to spend long hours walking, sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, kneeling, reaching, shoveling and/or raking
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects
  • Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
