As a member of Standard Plants Hydrogen for Mobility (H2FM)execution team, this dual role position will be responsible for developing sites for Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) for both commercial and private hydrogen vehicles as well as executing these capital projects . Duties associated with this role are supporting the selection and vetting of properties, working with AHJ’s in pre-permitting and permitting phases, coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts to develop the scope of work to render a property suitable for an HRS, and working closely with the internal real estate, commercial and project estimating teams to develop accurate budgets to permit and construct the HRS. Once a site is selected and funding approved, the Project Manager has the responsibility of execution and control of assigned projects with the goal of achieving on time project completion, within budget, to the happiness of the customer, and within acceptable levels of quality without compromising safety and reliability. The position will be responsible for the execution of multiple site development and individual capital projects up to $20 million dollars at any given time. Local travel for this position is estimated between 10- 50% of the time. Principal Responsibilities This position is responsible for: Complete site checklists and perform site visits for potential property addresses to ensure feasibility for H2FM installation and conformance with H2 installation standards. Coordinate meetings with AHJ for project review. Collaborate with internal teams on due diligence activities including environmental site assessments, geotechnical results, land surveys, etc., to report information to project estimating team for use in bidding process. Present project information and feasibility analyses to the responsible Business Unit for approval. Investigate zoning regulations for prospective land acquisitions/uses and coordinate necessary zoning procedures. Work closely with energy procurement group to initiate utility studies to determine availability and scope for new service Coordinate Geotech studies to inform foundation designs and grading/drainage requirements Communicate project requirements to internal teams; facilitate meetings upon project transition to construction and/or operation. Coordinate or facilitate site visits with landowners as necessary. Key Performance Indicators on Safety, Cost, Schedule, Quality, in order to achieve business goals Development of proposal schedules, risk management plans and construction strategies / costs for opportunities being bid Ensuring that Engineering Standards, Engineering Procedures and Work Instructions are understood, followed consistently, and value improved where vital to enable efficient Air Product’s project development and execution The typical scope of execution will include overall management of all aspects of project execution with internal team members, partner organizations (Operations, Business Area, Construction), third party engineering organizations, and customers. Project scope includes engineering, design, equipment procurement, construction procurement, construction management, plant commissioning and start-up, environmental permitting, etc. The role also includes responsibility for project aspects of estimating work and support of product development as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Equivalent Experience in renewable energy/utilities sector, land development, or real estate sectors a plus Experience with local / federal permit processes and CRN Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar work environment High degree of knowledge/understanding of Global Engineering and Manufacturing work practices. (Engineering, Design, Fabrication, Construction) Demonstrated strong leadership skills Ability to work effectively with a distributed team Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills We are the world’s largest hydrogen producer with over 80 years of industrial gas experience.
