Job Profile Summary SUMMARY Performs installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of power, access, transport and core equipment to ensure reliability and quality delivery of telephone, data and cable TV services at the Central Office, headend and remote sites. Assists Network Technicians and others as required. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance of core, transport, access and headend equipment. Troubleshooting and network problem determination. Monitoring and testing network performance. Equipment installation at Central Office, headend and remote sites. Circuit installation, documentation, testing and maintenance. Maintains Central Office and headend inventory and records. Installs and maintains DC power equipment, including rectifiers, UPS and battery backup systems in Central Office, headend and remote sites. Provides guidance to Network Technicians. Assists other workgroups with escalations. Assists with other work assignments related to group. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma required; 2 year technical degree preferred 2 years experience working with technologies used in Network Services. Familiar with SONET equipment as well as DLC’s; comprehensive understanding of TDM technology Computer literate, able to diagnose and correct problems, knowledge of TCP/IP issues and terminology, as well as knowing color codes for cable related issues and installs. Able to lift up to 60 pounds is required. Employee must climb ladders. Pulling, stretching, and bending are required. We firmly believe that our company is only as good as the people we employ.
