C0500 GFL Environmental USA Inc. is Hiring a Recycling Facility Supervisor Near Huxford, AL

The Recycling Faciility Supervsior will oversee and safely manage the recycling and sortation process through the separation of recyclable materials while providing excellent customer service to the Company’s internal and external customers. Over see quality controls to ensure the finished goods meet required specifications. Facility supervisors must also be able to perform all required functions to run all of the facilities equipment, including but not limited to sorting equipment, fork lifts, wheel loaders and balers. Key Responsibilities: • Supervising operation of all personnel, equipment, and controls to effectively process material during the shifts as designated, and in agreement with the Plant Facility Manager • Supervising all functions associated with established production schedules and MRF Requirements: • Training, cross-training and supervising all operations personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels are available to cover shift operations at all times. • Providing accurate records and data as required by the company and facility management. • Managing the house keeping functions within and around the plant including all equipment. • Complying with all aspects of the preventive maintenance program. • Conducting weekly, monthly, and periodic safety meetings and safety training as prescribed by Facility Manager. • Direct traffic on site • Maintaining a safe work environment and assuring that all suggestions, comments, and recommendations are acted on. Training all employees to understand the importance of a safe work place. • Ensuring bale quality. Quality includes no more than 4% contamination. Radom bale breaks will assess quality monthly. • Meeting run-time and production goals. • Function as a key member of the management structure, working with and effectively communicating with other managers, supervisors and co-workers. • Providing Leadership and behavior that foster high levels of productivity. • Completing required daily reports prior to the end of each normally scheduled shift and turning into Facility Manager. • Position requires ability to lift, lower, bend, reach, grasp, carry, slide, move and identify parts, supplies and tools and may require the physical ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted. • Willingness to accept, within reason, other duties, positions, functions, and responsibilities not listed above as required, including operation of lift trucks, loaders, grapples, and balers. • Participating in the facility “On-Call” schedule. Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Must be able to receive Forklift Operator certification • Operate skid loader, wheel leader, tractor-trailer, compactor, baler and can flattener. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Possess ability to operate all necessary vehicles and equipment to complete duties efficiently. • Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision. Physical/Mental Demands • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell. • Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • Occasionally move/lift up to 50 pounds manually. • Frequently move/lift up to 25 pounds manually. Working Conditions • Work in indoor office environment 50% of the time. • Noise level is usually moderate. • Occasionally exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles. • Occasionally work in high precarious places. • Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions occasionally.
